I'm struggling with my hair cause I want to wear it straight so badly but it's impossible. My hair is curly. And you know what? I think it's more than just a hair issue. Do you remember that Sex and the City episode where Carrie and Big reenact the Way We Were scene and Carrie realizes she is too complicated for Big just like curly hair?
"Ladies, I'm having an epiphany. The world is made up of two types of women. The simple girls and the Katie girls. I'm a Katie girl."
I must say it's time for me to accept the fact that I'm a Katie girl as well and instead of dreaming about straight hair I have to start enjoying my waves.
Tell me darling: deep inside your heart are you the straight "haired" girl or the curly "haired" girl?

Deep inside my heart I know that I'm a "curly" girl... it's just that I was gifted with straight hair. :-)
unfortunately i am the straight hair girl. my hair won't hold curl for anything. it dries poker straight.
i guess the grass is always greener.
I love curly hair, i think it looks gorgeous and especially in that photo!
So, how much do I love your SATC memory here? A lot. :)
THANKS FOR THE VISIT..COME BACK OFTEN WILL YOU? I JUST LOVE YOUR BLOG, SO FULL OF BEAUTY! I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED LONG HAIR, ALWAYS HAD LONG HAIR. PERMED AND LIGHTENED IT FOR YEARS. THEN I WENT CRAZY AND CUT IT ALL REALLY SHORT, ONE OF MY DAUGHTERS SAID I WAS GOING THROUGH A MID-LIFE THING, SHE MAY HAVE BEEN RIGHT, IT'S NOT FUN TO GET OLDER (I'M 60)WE ALWAYS WANT WHAT WE DON'T HAVE, STRAIGHT HAIRED GALS WANT CURLY AND CURLY GALS WANT STRAIGHT. RIGHT NOW MY HAIR IS GROWING OUT AGAIN. YOU HAVE GORGEOUS HAIR, I'D LET IT BE CURLY..YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL! COME SAY HI ANY TIME :D
I didn't see that episode, but I definitely know what you mean. For years, no, decades I have tried to make my hair look good straight. My hair does not look good straight. Now if I were a more of a patient personality type, perhaps I could accomplish straight hair that looked good, but I'm not. My hair is wavy. It's only been in the last few years that I have embraced the wave and gotten a cut that supports. The result is low maintenance hair that looks better than it ever has. It is one of the best things I have done. I don't think that my wavy hair makes me more complicated. Actually, I think it makes me more simple, because I'm just being myself.
give me her hair!
have a good almost weekend love!

I am a curly but i straight it up here and there. I play with my hair and add things like headband. I try to do up dos like your like post. Looks pretty with curly hair.

I have curly curls and they suite me just fine.
I have wavy hair and when I blow it out it has a nice soft flip to the bottom, which I like, but sometimes I like it straight straight, so I use a hot iron. That's usually in the summer though, and it works great for me with frizz issues. In the past six months though, I've let it dry on its own, twisting it up with a butterfly clip. The result is soft curls and as long as I just "finger comb" it, it has that tousled head look. I kind of like both, but it depends on my mood. I may be at an age where I am finally just dealing wth the cards I've been dealt, Miss Eve! : )
i like the way you think, embrace your curly hair, gorgeous!
I have straight hair, sadly. I love curly hair! Most straight haired girls I know want curly hair, so love the hair you have!

Hi Miss Eve,
You have beautiful hair, in your photograph.
Isn't it funny how we are never happy with what we have and sometimes want to change it.
I often use a hair straightener, which makes it all sleek and smooth.
Happy weekend
Hugs
Carolyn

For everyday wear, I am a curly gal (with a bucket of defrizz serum). Seriously, if I didn't use the serum, I'd look like a poodle in a rain storm. When I want straight hair, I have to dry it with the same serum. It takes a while but its worth it if there is absolutely no chance of rain AND the evening calls for it. Sometimes I dry it just to make sure I remember how to do it.

First off, what an awesome picture.
I have to say I'm both, I have natural waves but I have it straightened every week, so I have half week straight and half a week curls.
xoxo
Oh Evi, life is so funny. I would love to have curly hair! I dislike straight hair. It is so boring. My hair is neither or. It depends on the humidity; in humid hot weather I get very curly hair, in dry cold it becomes more frizzy and somewhat straight. I even wrote a post about hair once.;)
Please enjoy your dreamy curls, to me wild hair has always been the most appealing.;))
Have a great Friday my dear Evi,
xo

Do it!!! The second you embrace your curly hair for the Siren it is you can start taking the world by storm...our hair can do sooo much more than straight hair because it will hold anything! plus when all else fails you have a staightener!

én évekig vasaltam a hullámos hajamat, mostanában szerettem volna újra hullámosan hordani, és most teljesen egyenes... talán megváltozott a szerkezete- de az is biztos, hogy nekünk soha semmi nem jó :)))

deep down everybody wants a beautiful, fluffy curly hair...yours us gorgeous
Much love to you
Wait a minute, let me get this straight: You want your hair straight instead of like above pictured sexy main of inhumanly thick waves?
Oh yes, your blog is absolutely charming and funny.
Glad to have found you.
Best regards,
Tish
I was blessed with beautiful curly hair....but I must say, I usually wear it stick straight thanks to my Chi flat iron.
I adore your curls! Have a fab weekend!
Without my stylist Jackie I would have long ago shaved my curly hair and braved it as a sad bald woman so curly, I'm a curly haired girl.
Warm regards,
Simone
I am curly girl :)
My hair always winds up making me look like an Italian housewife no matter what, which is o.k., because, hey, wasn't Sophia Loren an Italian housewife?
Wow girl, you're blog looks AMAZING. Wow I'm seriously in love with it. I'll definitely follow, keep up the good work!!

Hi Eve!
I love this post!
Soo beautiful!
Have a nice Saturday!

alice
I'm a wavy haired girl who used to straighten it but now plumps for SJP-esque waves! Just found your gorgeous blog via Couture Carrie... love, love, love!! Mwah x
What a beautiful image!
I have sort of in between hair, a slight wave left natural. I like to do both, but have always wanted, full curls. You lucky girl -- curls are so beautiful and feminine! I think inside, I am a bit of both *wink
I hope you have a wonderful weekend, Miss Eve / xo
I still straighten my hair sometimes, but it was totally liberating when I learned to accept my own waves. Way to be lady!
I'm definitely a curly-haired girl. For so long I tried to be a straight haired girl...now I'm just like "Whatever" and I rock the freedom my curls allow. :-)
Oh my goodness, but your wavy/curly hair is SOOO gorgeous! Just like the model in the photo... stunning. I wish so badly my hair had more wave to it, but it is mostly straight. If it does get a wave, it looks wrong, out of place, goofy.
And I think perhaps I am a simple girl. And that's ok. It takes simple girls AND Katie girls to make the world a better place. :)
goooorgeous!! xxxx
You go girl! I'm a curly haired girl also, and the struggles to keep my hair straight are unimaginable! Let the curls live!
xo
Sophie
that's beautiful!
I have my SATC box hidden somewhere, it's one of my best keeps and would often watch it if I'm feeling sad.
Your hair is lovely don't be too hard on yourself!
I've always wanted curly hair, but I have straight hair. I think deep down I'm a little of both. But let's also not forget that Carrie did run around with very straight hair in a lot of the later episodes (e.g. when she was dating Burger). I know extensions helped a lot, but I always thought it was a little strange because curly hair was her signature look.
Oh, I would absolutely adore to have luscious curls - instead my hair is incredibly flat and lacks life - but I don't worry too much, it's what I was born with and I know I can't change it so I've learnt to live with it now :) xxx
I love the picture. Great hair inspiration. Deep down I am a curly girl. Although I do straighten it, I love just letting my hair be free loose and curly.
xoxo

okay you don't know me, but I love love love your blog, and I had to comment on this. I envy all of you with curly hair!! I have bone straight hair and wish so badly I had a wave...so enjoy your ccccurly locks!
emily
Hi Eve!
Curly hair is beautiful, but also vary hair.I like change hair styles.
But I love curly hair:)
♥♥
i just have to say I love this post...and that is probably a reason I love you too!
I too am a curly haired girl!!! I tried for YEARS to get my hair straight...and it does not work unless I am coming right our of the salon! So...after years of being upset and wanting to be different than I am...I finally really truly Love my curls...they make me, ME!
...and honestly my husband loves them too...he says they just are part of who I am...and they go with my personality!
So why change...but it did take me years to feel that way about them...oh and I still love a beautiful blow-out form the Salon every now and then...you gotta shake things up...right?! ;)
I have curly hair too! I do not suit straight lol!
Stunning photos!
I love your blog, i'm now following you so please check out my blog and I hope you can follow me back
Have a great day!

I think every girl wants what they can't have. I used to have curly hair when I was younger and hated it, but now my hair is straight and I miss it!
I always love posting about hair...somehow every girl gets so excited about hair issues :-) Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts!
Cheers: Evi
I have very, very straight hair and I always wanted it curly growing up! It's only in my adult life that I've come to terms with my locks.
'Katie girls' are the best! curls curls curls!
