Well, I chewed it I slept on it and I must say I'm pretty disappointed.
While I LOVE the series and the first movie I don't know what to do with this one...
What is mostly disturbed me is the meaninglessness...there is no meaning in this movie. The characters are not developing anywhere...they are kind of stuck in the middle of the desert.
Of course there is a couple of funny moments, lots of gorgeous outfits and places...but I expected much more from this movie than a visual pleasure.
I'm especially surprised about Samantha's character /one of my very favorite by the way/...sometimes they put lines onto her mouth which is more pathetic than funny...
One thing is for sure: after I left the cinema I just felt: this can't be the end...these characters deserve to be released form where they are now...
So I'm more hungry for a 3rd movie than ever...and if this is the result what the creators of the movie are expecting...well than, they did very good!
Yep, saw it already too! Overall? LOVED it. Had a few issues, but don't wanna say them here. Let's do it over email. :) xo
Evi, I'm catching the movie this weekend, so I've tried not to read anything! The London premiere was this evening, pop over to see some pictures of the girls :)
OK I am not going to read your comment ....yet. I am seeing it tomorrow night! Loving the eye candy though (Aiden/Big, clothes, and Morocco!). Check out my blog today for a SATC2 post too!
I'm seeing it with my best friend on Sunday. We have a whole day planned around it. I will let you know what I think after.
I was thinking..you should post more photos of your beautiful self :)
Dena xoxo
Saw it and LOVED it! I loved seeing the girls in a new phase of their lives.
Ops I made a little spelling mistake in my first comment: of course I meant "released from" and not "released form" LOL. Sorry :-)
Am seeing it tomorrow as well, but went ahead and read your comment. I'll be curious to see what you meant. Enjoy your weekend and I will stop by after I saw it to share my thoughts as well.
I want to go watch it but no one seems to be mature enough where I'm at to go watch it with me =T My hunnie said he'll go but this is more of a chick flick and I'm sure he'll get bored out of it by the first 10 minutes. lol. I heard a lot of people saying they prefer the first one over the second one. Sucks not having homegirls around you for a girl's night out =T
I will most likely see this first when it is out on DVD.
I loved the series ad I was pleasantly surprised when i saw the first movie.
I guess sometimes a great film sparks great expectations and sequels are often bound to be flops, as they cannot live up to the prequels.;) Sometimes it is good to watch a movie again, often it becomes better.;)
Have a nice weekend dear Evi,
xoxo
I will be seeing it soon, I just adored the photo's you posted of the girls...so gorgeous.
xoxo
I haven't watched it yet. I haven't even watched the first movie. Haha. But seems great though.
Yeah, I kind of figured this might be the case! I think you have to go into it just to enjoy the fashion and set design at this point! Thanks for the review! XO!
I saw it on a Tuesday I thought the girls looked great, could have stood a little less leg from Samantha, loved Miranda's fierce hair color, and of course the fashion inspiration. I agree there are some pitfalls a lot of unnecessary Samantha banter, but I loved it none the less, Love your first image you display perfect with your pretty pink blog!
Gina
Seeing it this weekend, Eve, with a girlfriend. I read your comment because I just couldn't stand not to :) and I'll let you know my thoughts after I see it. Thanks, by the way, for a FABULOUS blog! Being fairly new, it's one of my very favorites -- you find such beautiful and feminine images to send out to us!
It got a bit too commercial, unfortunately...
Grrr i really have to watch it very soon :DD
I don't know when I'm gonna see it but I've read only "bad" reviews online...:(
I didn't see the first one, maybe i won't understand! But i hope I do, because now i wanna see :D
Xx

I wasn't planning on seeing it, although looking at the photos I can see from a fashion standpoint I should probably go. I think there will be a 3 since this one is so popular. Hope you are well Evi! I was thinking of you this week!

Oh my, your blog is beautiful!
Oh and I heard the movie was pretty meaningless too... bummer.
& Not enough sex or city, so I hear.
Not sure if I'll see it...
I was worried it might be disappointing. Honestly how could they have thought a second movie was a good idea? Oh well. It's released here in Australia in a few days, so I'll let you know what I think after I've seen it...

xx
Awesome pictures, I'm going to see the movie too :) xo
I'm in ...NY, and plan to see it ASAP!
Haven't seen it yet, but hoping to this weekend! If nothing else, to see the clothes that they wear ;)
Have a great weekend!

there may not be enough depth but the humour i love! i am still a fan and the beautiful style they all exude! you have a great weekend! verbena cottage
I haven't seen it yet. Sequels usually don't deliver.
Can't wait to see it!
xoxox,
CC
I liked the Aiden character in the show because he was the only sane character. I was so disappointed by the first movie - it's just a cash grab now. They do look gorgeous though.
I cannot wait to see it xx
I'm just not a fan of Carrie's stylist....there are WAY MORE misses than there are hits!!!
I really want a J'adore Dior tee though, but without the '8'
Tbh, I was a little disappointed with certain aspects, ie. the fact that I felt myself always waiting for *somethint* to happen, something shock horror like the abandoned wedding in the first one. The writing wasn't always true to the characters I felt too, and it was at times extremely predictable.
Although I have to say I loved the visual pleasures you speak of... Aesthetically the most enticing and flamboyant film ever. (Although a part of me was screaming PRODUCT PLACEMENT all the way through)... And it was laugh out loud funny at parts. Overall, really enjoyable, once you dont take it too seriously.
peace xx
The pics you posted here are PRETTY! I loved the movie...so cute...especially Carrie's pink n white luggage.
I just bought the white Halston Heritage dress! I can't wait for it to arrive.
Dear Eve, I saw the movie last week and really enjoyed it. I agree that there was no real plot, but the clothes and the setting made up for it. It was visually fantastic! And there were a lot of laughs too.
Feels like I'm a little bit alone with my disappointment...most likely I expected too much /I think/.
By the way dear "Herself" you're speaking from my heart...I agree with you in everything you just said...
Anyway I really love that we can discuss the movie here...many thanks for stopping by!
Cheers: Evi
